About Emma
Emma is the Director and Senior Psychologist at Sestan Consulting.
Emma has many years of experience working in forensic settings with forensic clients both individually and in group therapy, which has given her an in-depth understanding of the complex and often challenging nature of human behaviour. Additionally, she has worked with clients individually in community therapeutic settings who present with a wide range of issues.
Emma is dedicated to providing a non-judgmental and trauma-informed approach to her clients. Her therapeutic approach emphasises the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment that allows clients to explore their emotions, thoughts and experiences without fear of judgment.
To ensure the success of her clients, Emma employs a wide range of therapeutic approaches in her practice to meet their individual needs, resulting in positive outcomes and long-term success. This might include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-based approaches that are suitable for the client's specific needs.
As a result of her experience in forensic settings, Emma is passionate about working with young adults, exploring the challenges they experience with regards to their identity as individuals, their poor emotional awareness and challenging gender stereotypes and norms that may influence problematic behaviour in their future.
